Description

Connexion Roswell (formerly Holcomb Woods Village) consisted of a façade renovation and exterior improvements to an existing, primarily single story 102,888 sf neighborhood shopping center located on an 11.77 acre parcel in Roswell, Georgia. The exterior renovation transformed a dated retail strip mall, into an inviting, walkable, vibrant shopping center that includes a variety of tenant types.

The existing buildings consisted of open web steel joists, joist girders and steel beams framing the roof, structural steel columns, and CMU bearing walls and shear walls.
Erudite Engineers served as the Structural Engineer of Record for the structural modifications to the buildings. Structural engineering aspects of the renovation included: cold formed (light gauge) steel design for new building parapets, structural steel design for new rooftop tower elements, designing reinforcing for existing open web steel joists to support additional loads, designing attachment details for new decorative canopies and trellises on the building façade, and structural modifications to the existing 60 ft tall monument tower.
