Description
This project consisted of new construction of a four-story, 72,000 square foot county judicial facility. The new building consolidates the county judicial functions including the Juvenile Court, Probate Court, and Superior Court. Also included are the Solicitor’s office, a sallyport, holding cells, Clerk of Court’s office, Judge’s Chambers, Jury Assembly Room, District Attorney’s office, conference rooms, Prosecutors office, and Administrative offices.
The building is a steel framed structure with the lower level consisting of a daylight basement. Structural loads are supported by shallow foundations bearing on rock. The building exterior veneer consists of brick, glass fiber reinforced concrete panels, and architectural glass.
Erudite Engineers served as the Specialty Structural Engineer of Record for the cold formed steel exterior curtain wall framing supporting the brick veneer and glass fiber reinforced concrete panels.
